Private John Charles Moody (Service No:QX15739) enlisted in the Australian Army in August 1941 and was attached to 137 Heavy Anti Aircraft Battery when he was Discharged in April 1946.

The eldest of five children, John was born in Cairns, QLD in 1917 to William Charles Moody (b1888 in Charters Towers, QLD) and Eleanor Agnes Bohan (b1897 in Brisbane, QLD). William (a Coach Painter) and Eleanor married in 1916 in Brisbane, QLD and settled in Cairns where William worked as a Coach Painter and Painter and Signwriter.

John - a Brewery Worker in Cairns, QLD - was in the Army in Sydney NSW in 1946 when he married Alice Eleanor Cotter (b1921 at Bogan Gate, Parkes, NSW) - Alice was a Factory Worker in Sydney. John and Alice settled in Cairns, QLD where John was a Brewery Worker and Labourer. He died in 1981.
