Private Mervyn Herbert Munt (Service No:Q100996) enlisted in the ACMF on 20 December 1941. Private Munt served with the Bulk Issue Petrol and Oil Depot (BIPOD) and was Discharged on 14 October 1943.

Born in 1912 in Laidley on the Darling Downs in QLD, Mervyn was the eldest of two children of Marcus George Munt (b1887 in Laidley, QLD) and Wilhelmina Carlson (b1889 in Mackay, QLD). Marcus (a Butcher) and Wilhelmina married in 1911 in Laidley QLD and lived at Dallarnil nr Biggenden QLD where Marcus was a Butcher. In the early 1920s the family moved to Cordalba, QLD where Marcus was a Farmer and in the late 1920s at Yarraman on the Darling Downs where Marcus worked as a Carrier. In the early 1940s the family was living in Brisbane and Marcus was a Carpenter.

Mervyn worked as a Truck Driver at Jimna in Widgee QLD and in 1936 in Brisbane, QLD he married Ruby Reynell Thurlow (b1913 in Brisbane, QLD). Mervyn and Ruby settled in Brisbane where Mervyn was a Transport Driver and Mill Hand. Mervyn died in 1960 and Ruby in 1996.
