When James “Jim” Murphy was born on 27 December 1918 in Winton, Queensland, his father, George, was 38 and his mother, Grace, was 30.
He married Dorothy Barbara Carlile on 21 December 1946 in Goondiwindi, Queensland.
He died on 13 October 1999 in Goondiwindi, Queensland, at the age of 80, and was buried in the Goondiwindi Cemetery, Goondiwindi Region, Queensland, Australia.
