Youngest of the four brothers (William, Joseph and Leslie) who served in WWII, Private Leonard Neville (Service Nos:Q60171/QX36876) initially served in the ACMF (11 January 1940 - 4 August 1942) with 105 Reserve Motor Transport Coy. Private Neville enlisted in the AIF on 5 August 1942, and served in New Guinea (27 December 1942 - 5 October 1943 and 11 February 1944 - 8 June 1944) with 141 General Transport Coy and 2 Air Maintenance Coy. Private Neville was attached to 3 Air Maintenance Coy at Discharge on 28 December 1945.

Len was born in Brisbane, QLD in 1918, seventh of nine children of William (Harry) Henry Neville (b1881 at Redbank Plains via Ipswich, QLD) and Sarah Ann Ibbotson (b1889 in Goodna, QLD). Harry and Sarah married in Brisbane in 1906, and lived in Ipswich, Jackson via Miles and Brisbane, where they raised their family and Harry was a Saddler.

Len worked in Brisbane as a Factory Hand and Storeman Packer before enlisting in the Army in 1940. Following his Discharge, Len was Truck Driver in Brisbane in 1946 when he married Violet Annie Heymer (b1924 in Brisbane, QLD). Len and Violet settled in Brisbane, where they raised their family and Len worked as a Truck Driver until retirement. Violet died in 2002 and Len in 2014.
