Grandpa Keith
To me as a little boy Grandpa Keith was a big man. I knew him as a quiet man. He didn't say much. When I stayed with him and Grandma Iris on school holidays, I would watch him get up early most mornings, walk across the road to the beach in his togs with his towel, then swim up and down the shipping channel. Up and down. Up and down. He cared little about sharks or anybody else that might have been in there with him at the time. He served - Middle East 1940 - 1942. New Guinea 1943 - 1944. Discharged 1945. Astounding. Absolutely astounding. Thank you for your service. I would have liked to get to know him better. If you have a Grandpa Keith in your world, if you haven't already, reach out and see if he's up for a chat.
