Private William Henry Pearson (Service No:QX61426) initially enlisted in the ACMF as a Private (Service No:Q113795) and served with 1 Garrison Battalion, 14 Garrison Battalion and 15 Infantry Battalion. Private Pearson served in New Guinea (19 March 1943 - 13 December 1943 and 3 March 1944 - 4 June 1944). He enlisted in the AIF on 13 July 1944 and was attached to 15 Infantry Battalion at Discharge on 18 October 1944.

Born in Cheshire England in 1907, Bill was the seventh of ten children of John Pearson (b1871 in Cheshire, England) and Alice Ann Barlow (b1874 in Cheshire, England). John (a Cotton Gasser - defumigating raw cotton) and Alice married in 1896 in Stockport, Cheshire where they raised their family and John worked as a Cotton Gasser and Labourer.

Bill worked as a Mill Hand and Electric Crane Driver in Cheshire before immigrating in 1926, arriving in Brisbane, QLD on board the Ormuz. Bill then worked at Murray's Creek as a Farm Labourer, and in 1928 in Bundaberg, married Evelyn Pershouse (b1907 at Iveragh, QLD) - Evelyn was a Dairy Worker. Bill and Evelyn first settled at Murray's Creek, living in tent before moving to Jambin in 1929. The couple lived in a tent in Jambin, both working as Farm Labourers before purchasing a farm in 1930 near Jambin, where they were Dairy and Cotton Farmers. Bill was Umpire for the Jambin Cricket Team and Evelyn an accomplished tennis player. Following Bill's Discharge, the family moved to Rockhampton, where Bill was a Meat Worker and Labourer. Bill died in 1990 and Evelyn in 1993.
