Private Arthur James Peebles

Private Arthur James Peebles was mobilised for CMF call up in 1940 and served with the 31st Battalion AMF. After an initial period of service in North Queensland, he was released from service and returned to Primary Industry in late 1941.
Post Japan’s entry into the war, Arthur was again called up for service withe the AMF in 1942. Arthur Peebles was posted to 2/1st Base Workshops Queensland as part of the Small Boats Companies.
Pte Arthur Peebles served with Base Workshops till mid 1944 and where he was discharged to Primary Industry in Ingham North Queensland.

Pte Peebles was awarded the War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45.

Arthur Peebles’ brother, Private William Stallan Peebles served with the 2/15th Bn AIF in New Guinea and Tarakan North Borneo from 1942-1946.
