Cyril was the fourth of eight children of Robert Morrison Phister (born 1863 in Ipswich, QLD) and Janet King (born 1871 in Leyburn, QLD). Robert( a Labourer) and Janet married in 1890 in Ipswich, QLD and settled at Millmerran on the Darling Downs to raise their family.

Cyril worked as a Labourer and Shearer in the Darling Downs Region, and was an amateur Boxer. He enlisted in the Army in October 1939 (following some brushes with the Law) and was a Private (Service No:QX1038) attached to 2/9 Infantry Battalion when he was Discharged in February 1940. Five of Cyril's brothers served in WWII.

Cyril, aka Robinson, died in Sydney, NSW in 1971.

Private Cyril Phister (aka Arthur Robinson/Arthur Cyril Phister/Arthur C Robinson) served in the Army on two occasions. As Private Phister (Service No:QX1038) he served with 2/9 Battalion from 22 October 1939 to 8 February 1940. On 7 September 1941, he re enlisted in Sydney NSW as Private Arthur Robinson (Service No:NX44489) and was attached to 8th Infantry Training Battalion at Discharge on 25 September 1943. He was one of seven brothers who served in WWI and/or WWII - Sam, Roy, George, Clarence, Percy and Gordon. 

Cyril was born in Pittsworth, QLD in 1903, fourth of eight children of Robert Morrison Phister (b1863 in Ipswich, QLD) and Janet King (b1871 in Leyburn, QLD). Robert (a Labourer) and Janet married in 1890 in Ipswich, QLD and settled at Milmerran via Pittsworth on the Darling Downs, where they raised their family and Robert was a Labourer. They later moved to Toowoomba - where Robert woked as a Labourer.

Cyril worked as a Labouer and Shearer in the Darling Downs Region, and had some renown as an amateur Boxer. In Tenterfield NSW in 1935, Cyril married Beryl Ada Jean Thorn (b1916 in Glenreagh, NSW). Cyril and Beryl settled in Toowoomba, where they had two children, and Cyril worked as a Shearer. Beryl lived in Warwick, Toowoomba and Helidon, and in 1952 filed for Divorce in the Supreme Court of QLD. Beryl remarried in 1953. Cyril died in NSW in 1971.
