Private Pratten was attached to 2/7 Transport Platoon at Discharge on 4 September 1945.

Born in Kilcoy, QLD in 1915, Les was third of seven children of Ernest Theodore Pratten (b1875 in Samford, QLD) and Eliza Fredriksen (b1886 at 'Danwood Vale' via Kilcoy, QLD). Ernest was a Grazier/Dairy Farmer in 1909 when he and Eliza married in Kilcoy, where they settled and raised their family. Ernest was a Grazier/Dairy Farmer and, in the 1920s when Hancock & Gore Mill opened, he hauled timber from his property to the saw mill by bullock team.

Les worked as a Farm Hand in Kilcoy before enlisting in the Army. Following his Discharge, he returned to Kilcoy where, in 1946, he married Gladys Mary Thrupp (b1919 in Kilcoy, QLD). Les and Gladys settled at Sandy Creek via Kilcoy, where they raised their family and Les was a Farmer. Gladys died in 1966 and Les in 1982.
