Private Fredrick Charles Alfred Pritchard (Service No:QX14924) enlisted in the AIF on 18 July 1940 and was marched out to 2/3 Australian Field Workshop - classified Driver Motor Transport, later re classified Fitter. Private Pritchard served with 76 Light Aid Detachment in the Middle East (27 December 1940 - 6 March 1943) and was Discharged on 28 December 1943.

The youngest of six children, Fred was born in Brisbane, QLD in 1910 to William Thomas Pritchard (b1867 in Brisbane, QLD) and Annie Eliza Christina Peterson (b1878 in Brisbane, QLD). William and Annie married in 1898 in Brisbane, where they settled and raised their family and William was a Fisherman, Labourer and Wharf Worker.

Fred worked as a Motor Mechanic (Assembler) in Brisbane, where in 1934 he married Eleanor Jane McCoy (b1914 in Pennsylvania, USA) - Eleanor had arrived in Brisbane in the early 1920s with her mother and siblings. Fred and Eleanor settled in Brisbane, where Fred was a Motor Mechanic when he enlisted in the AIF. Following his Discharge, Fred and Eleanor settled in Brisbane - Nundah, Shorncliffe and Sandgate - where Fred worked as a Mechanic until retirement. Eleanor died in 1989 and Fred in 2000.
