Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

This man had 2 regimental numbers which caused much confusion with the Commonwealth War Graves over the naming and subsequent location of his grave. (1428 and 2332)

His younger brother  2007 Pte. John Buxton Smith 22nd Battalion AIF was killed in action on the 26th August 1916. Age 24. Both the sons of Jane Smith, of 81, Pridham St., East Prahran, Victoria, and the late George James Smith.
