Sapper Thomas Edward Robertson (Service No:QX23639) enlisted in the Australian Army in 1941 and was attached to 3 Independent Coy when he was Discharged in 1944.

Born in Brisbane QLD in 1920, Tom was the eldest of two sons of Edward Thomas Robertson (b1899 in Ipswich, QLD) and Ann Ruby Allan (b1900 in Musselburgh, Scotland). Edward (a Cleaner) and Ann married in 1920 in Ipswich QLD - Ann had arrived with her parents and siblings in 1911 in Brisbane QLD on board the Paparoa. Edward and Ann settled in Ipswich QLD and Edward worked as a Cleaner, Fireman (Railways), Labourer and Licensced Drainer.

Following his Discharge, Tom settled in Sydney NSW and in 1949 married Heather Jean Morrison (b1925). Tom and Heather settled in Auburn, NSW where Tom worked as a Laboratory Attendant until his death in 1976.
