Arthur Romaine was born in Granville NSW...Arthur was Born and named Arthur Kelly...Arthur had a Sister named Rita, 3 Brothers...Lawrence Valentine Clyde Kelly, Jack Kelly/Lee, William James Kelley/Lee.. Times were very tough in those times and two boys were sent to the Hammonville Shelter in Mulgoa...Jack who was Age 11...William who had only just turned 9 Years of age...This happened in 1922...Arthur ended up in Bomaderry near Nowra working on a farm, think my Dad may have been Forstered out to a family...Have no idea of what age he would of been then...Somehow all the Boys made their way up the coast to Queensland at a later time, they must of kept in touch by letter..Dad told me he jumped the Rattler "Goods Train" to get to Brisbane only to be picked up by the Police when he arrived in Brisbane...Dad met Mum at the Blue Moon Skating Rink in South Brisbane...They were Married in New Farm...Brisbane 25/06/1938..Dad joined the Army not long after being Married and Served in the Middle East and New Guinea...Remember my Dad telling me about an incident in New Guinea when he and his mate were standing under a Coconut Tree talking to his Mate when he was shot between the eyes by a Jap Sniper..Dad did not talk much about the War and did not attend too many Reunions...It took many years before Dad claimed his War Medals..Remember the day when i went to the letter box to collect the Medals from the Postie ...Dad changed his name from Kelly to Romaine on 03/08/1946..The name Romaine was on his Fathers Birth Certificate...Re: Paul lk romaine..Son..
