Son of Thomas O'Neill of Freeling, SA. Later changed to his wife Ellen O'Neill of Creslin Street, Camden, SA formerly of Broken Hill, NSW. Arthur and Ellen married during 1905c in Broken Hill, NSW

Commenced return to Australia on 11 August 1918 aboard HT Malta disembarking on 24 September 1918 at Melbourne then overland to Adelaide

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

Residential address at the time of death was given as 'Waterbag Station', Broken Hill, NSW.
