Stanley Edward Rossiter - Bowen
Stanley registered for service in Bowen, North Queensland, Australia, where he was born. He was the son of Arthur Matthew George Rossiter and Florence Mary Rossiter (nee Blunt). Stanley had six siblings, five of whom survived to adulthood. His siblings were Florence Eva, Arthur, Lillian Mabel, Ivy May, Ronald and Vivian.
Stanley trained at Miowera, south of Bowen and served "to protect the Brisbane Line". He returned from service to Bowen, but finally settled in Southport with his wife, Joyce and the couple's three children, Janis, Merilyn and Ian Rossiter. Stanley suffered ill-health for the remainder of his life, the latter part of which meant he could not move without the assistance of an oxygen tank.
