VIVAN NORMAN ROSSITER - BOWEN SERVICEMAN
Vivian Norman Rossiter was born in Bowen, North Queensland, Australia the youngest child of Arthur Matthew George and Florence Mary Rossiter (nee Blunt) of Herbert Street.
Viv had 6 older siblings, Florence Eva (Cowan), Arthur, Stanley Edward, Lillian Mabel, Ivy May (Boulter) and Ronald Leopold. His sister, Lillian died from pneumonia as a young child after returning from school one day.
Viv served in Japan as a member of peace keeping forces. He returned to Bowen where he married his wife, Audrey and the couple were blessed with six children, Glen, Myles, Katherine, Noel, Janine and Sarah.
Viv served with pride and post-war was commended on his fire fighting abilities, which he'd learned during his war service while later working in the State Forest Department.
