Edgar Thomas Sacre served twice in the South African (Boer) War, first as a Private S.N. 167 in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, and second as a Private S.N. 1859 in the 3rd Battalion, Australian Commonwealth Horse (source AWM Boer War Nominal Roll, Murray p. 482 and 529).
He would also serve again in WW2 albeit on home duties as a Private S.N. Q187228 in the No 1 Garrison Battalion Brisbane (source National Archives Australia WW2 service records).
