John William Laycock my Great Uncle- a dedication on 100 centenary 2018
John william Laycock son of Thomas and Sarah Laycock Roma Qld. He was born 1883 Highland Farm Cattle Creek Roma Qld. John (Jack) enlisted in the AIF Toowoomba while working as a loco driver. He served in France where he was injured, he was mustard gassed and returned to Australia suffering several illnesses from the war. He was discharge in 1918 with chronic gastritus. John William Laycock died in 1934 at age of 51 and is buried in Brisbane.
