Wounded and died of shrapnel wounds to the head in the 1st Casualty Clearing Station at Anzac on 15 August 1915. Age 23.
His younger brother, 2712 Pte. Leslie Joseph Lakeman 55th Battalion AIF, died of wounds 1 May, 1917. Age 19.
