Private Allan Leslie Stevenson (Service No:Q203290) enlisted in the ACMF on 29 May 1942 as a Private attached to 4 Battalion (QLD) VDC, and was attached to 651 Australian Light Anti Aircraft Battery VDC at Discharge on 27 July 1944.
Allan was born in Ipswich QLD in 1915 (QLD BDM Registration No:014100), youngest of four children of William Leslie Stevenson (b1890 in Melbourne, Victoria) and his first wife Margaret Myrtle Evans (b1894 at Rix's Creek in Singleton, New South Wales). William and Margaret settled in Ipswich, where they raised their family and William was a Blacksmith. By 1917 Margaret had left and later remarried in New South Wales. William remarried and settled with his family in Brisbane, where he was a Blacksmith.
Allan was a Fitter and Turner in Brisbane, and in 1939 married Edith (Dorothy) Muriel Cowin (b1917 in Liverpool, England) - Dorothy arrived in Australia in 1919 with her parents on board the Orsova, and was a Typist in Brisbane. Allan and Dorothy settled in Brisbane, where they raised their family and Allan worked as Shift Maintenance Fitter for Brisbane Abbatoir until his death in 1976 (QLD BDM Registration No:1976/B/72866). Dorothy died in 2007.
