Violet May (Vi) Stradling was the only child of Harry Stradling and Annie Doole of Brisbane, QLD,
Vi enlisted on 29 January 1943 in the Australian Army Citizen Military Forces and served as a Private (Service No: QF268506) with Australian Army Head Quarters Northern Command. Vi took her Discharge on 5 December 1946.
In 1947 Vi married Gordon French Phister, who had served with 2.25th Australian Infantry Battalion. Vi and Gordon lived in Toowoomba, QLD until Vi's death in 2005
