Private Thomas Alfred Thomasson (Service No:Q212632) served with the ACMF from 30 May 1942 to 21 October 1945 with 13th Battalion VDC (QLD).
Tom was born in 1922 at Barmoya, The Caves via Rockhampton QLD, the eighth of nine children of Samuel Storey Thomasson (b1876 in Rockhampton, QLD) and Emma Louisa Nitz (b1880 at Crocodile Paddock, Rockhampton, QLD). Samuel (a Miner) and Emma married in Rockhampton in 1907 and settled at Barmoya, The Caves via Rockhampton where they raised their family and Samuel was a Selector and Dairy Farmer.
Tom was working as a Farm Hand at The Caves when he enlisted in the ACMF in 1942, and in 1947 in Rockhampton QLD married Avian Leith Croker (b1928 in Charleville, QLD). Tom and Avian settled at Barmoya, The Caves via Rockhampton where Tom was a Farmer. In the 1960s Tom and Avian moved to Rockhampton where Tom worked as a Grader Driver and Plant Operator. Following Tom's death in 1989 Avian remarried.
