Dear Miss Hunt
I am just writing to tell you some sad news concerning my son Pte Percy Brown who was I believe a friend of yours.
You will I am sure to be sorry to hear that he was killed (shot through the head) in France on the 3rd of May [1916]. He enclosed (one on)? a letter to you for me to post which I hope you have received.
He often spoke of you in his letters to me - he thought a great deal of you.
I should be glad if you could tell me how he left his affairs Australia as I am quite in the dark. I am as you may be sure terribly upset over is death. He was a dear boy and a great comfort to me.
With kindest regards
I remain
Yours sincerely
(Mrs) Annie Brown
