Corporal Albert Porter Vizer (Service No:Q62686) enlisted in the ACMF on 21 October 1940 as a Private attached to 112 Australian General Hospital - classified Nursing Orderly. Promoted to Lance Corporal on 22 February 1943, Corporal Vizer was attached to 126 Australian Special General Hospital at Discharge on 6 January 1946. His wife Sylvia (Aircraftwoman; Service No:107298) served in the WAAAF.
Albert was born in Brisbane QLD in 1915, eldest of three children of Richard Albert Vizer (b1885 in Brisbane, QLD) and Martha Florence Harris (b1887 in Brisbane, QLD). Richard and Martha married in 1912 in Brisbane, where they settled and raised their family and Richard worked as a Cloth Cutter.
Albert worked as a Shirt Cutter in Brisbane before enlisting in the Army, and in 1944 in Brisbane married Sylvia Florence Partington (b1920 in Adelaide, South Australia) - Sylvia was in the WAAAF, and had been a Shop Assistant in Adelaide prior to enlisting. Following Discharge, Albert and Sylvia settled in Brisbane, where they raised their family and Albert worked as Shirt Cutter until retirement. Albert died in 1984 and Sylvia in 1999.
