Corporal Mervyn Henry Walker (Service Nos:QX36699/Q47791) served from 16 January 1940 to 3 November 1945 and was attached to 1 Light Field Ambulance when he was Discharged.

Born in Ipswich QLD in 1917, Merv was the third of four children of William (Bill) James Walker (b1888 in Ipswich QLD) and Isabella (Bella) Nunn (b1889 in Ipswich, QLD). Bill (a Deputy Mine Manager) and Bella married in 1909 and settled in Booval, Ipswich QLD where they raised their family. Bill was a Mine Manager.

Merv was a Cabinetmaker in Ipswich, QLD and in 1943 married Jane Agnes Jean Campbell (b1916 in Ipswich, QLD). Following Merv's Discharge from the Army the couple settled in Ipswich, where Merv worked as a Cabinetmaker before moving to Brisbane in the early 1950s. Merv was a Boat Builder in Brisbane QLD until he and Jane retired to Daley's Point in NSW. Jane died in 1993 and Merv in 2001.
