Private Charles Benjamin Ward (Service No:QX500726) enlisted in the Australian Army on 13 April 1946 and was attached to Reinforcement Instruction School. Private Ward was Discharged on 30 June 1947.

Born in Builyan nr Gladstone QLD in 1929, Charles was the eldest child of Benjamin Gore Alfred Ward (b1904 in Mt Morgan, QLD) and Mary Elizabeth Schmidt (b1908 in Many Peaks nr Gladstone, QLD). Benjamin ( a Labourer in Builyan) and Mary married in 1928 in Gladstone QLD. Benjamin and Mary lived in Monto and Gooroolbah where Benjamin was a Farmer, and in Sandgate and Gladstone where he was a Waterside Worker.

Charles worked as a Station Hand prior to his enlistment in 1946, and thet year in Maitland, NSW married Marie Patricia Williams (b1938 in Maitland, NSW). Charles and Marie had Divorced by 1950 when Charles remarried in Gladstone QLD to Veronica June Geraghty (b1930 in brisbane, QLD). Charles and Veronica settled in Wynnum, Brisbane where Charles worked as a Sawmill Hand, and were Divorced by 1959 when Veronica was a Nurse. In the late 1960s Charles remarried - Wendy Joan Munt (b1939 in Monto, QLD) - Wendy was a Nurse in Maitland NSW. Charles and Wendy settled in Beenleigh, QLD where Charles worked as a Plumber before retiring to Maryborough QLD.  Wendy died in February 2010 and Charles in August 2010.
