Jack (born John Herbert) was the second of six children of John Herbert Watson Snr (born in 1884 in Brisbane, QLD) and Mabel Maud Kent (born in 1887 in Brisbane, QLD). John Snr was a Carpenter in Brisbane, QLD
Jack married Bernice Ann Martin in 1932 in Brisbane, QLD, and lived in Ipswich, QLD where he worked as a Carpenter. He and Ann were living in Brisbane, QLD when he enlisted in the Australian Military Forces in 1940. Jack served as a Sapper (Service No: Q14632) with 16th Australian Army Troops Coy RAE, 1 Australian CE Works, and 43 Australian DORE Works.
Jack took his Discharge in 1945
