'Joseph Wells' was the alias used by Joseph Maxwell VC, MC and Bar, DCM (/explore/people/240932) to enlist in the Second World War. 'Joseph Wells' was assigned to the 7th Division Cavalry Regiment but was discharged on September 9th, 1940 as 'unlikely to become an efficient soldier'. During his 3 months in the 2nd/AIF as Joseph Wells, he committed 6 offences with 3 of those being Absent Without Leave.
