Victor was the second of nine children of Arthur Henry Wickerson (b1891 at Maroochy River, QLD) and Kate Sarah Boyce (b1895 in Ipswich, QLD). Arthur - a Farmer - and Kate married in 1914 in Nambour, QLD and settled at Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast to raise their family. Arthur and his brother Joseph served briefly in WWI.
Victor had been a Sugar Worker in Bli Bli and a Labourer in Childers when he married Amy (Connie) Constance Pearce (b1918 at Oakey Creek near Rockhampton, QLD) in 1938 at St Matthew's in Kenilworth, QLD. Victor was attached to 101 Convalescent Depot when he was Discharged in June 1942. Victor's father, uncle, brothers (Arthur and Henry) and cousin (Cliford) and brothers-in-law served in WWII.
