Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

George Seamer Ramsay was the adopted son of Thomas Gray Seamer of Porepunkah Victoria. It seems from letters in the service file that Thomas Seamer and his wife raised George from the time he was born until his death at Fromelles. The real father, a George Caird Ramsay, apparently a brother in law of Thomas Seamer, agreed that the Seamer family should receive all medals and entitlements relating to the service of George Seamer Ramsay.
