Add my storyBiography contributed by Daphne Parker
Roy Woodward inherited the family farm at Sunnybank, Brisbane when his father died in 1949. Despite the prospect of a secure farming future and marriage to Ruby in April 1950, a deeper power was moving. He was convinced that God called him to live his life in Ministry "in the bush".
In 1953, he left the farm to study at Queensland Bible Institute, Toowong. He and Ruby and two young daughters travelled to The Gums, 330 kilometres west of Brisbane and finally settled in Tara and no guaranteed income. They commenced Sunday School, Bible Study and Cottage meetings. They left Tara on 16 January 2001 for retirement in Maryborough, Queensland where he continued to minister and preach. He is survived by his 7 children and multiple extended families.
