Biography contributed by Jennifer Wright

Gordon wright was the second oldest of three children, by vita madeline nee colwell wright, and George Edwin Charles Wright .He served in new guinea during WW2 and walked the kakoda trail, told stories about the fuzzy wuzzies, and how they saved his life on more than one occasion. He remembered how brutal and harrowing his experience was, but like most soldiers during the war he didn't ever talk much about it.

He contracted malaria, which left him with a weak heart.. and was a member of the masonic lodge, as was his father George wright.. after he was discharged he returned to brisbane where he then worked as a chief finance officer for Trans Australia Airlines, for 35 yrs. He passed away on the 28th August 1994, and left his wife Ellen wright, and 4 children, Ross, Brian, Garry and Jenny. RIP dad, your daughter Jennifer.
