From Gary Mitchell, Sandgate Cemetery
There is no headstone at Sandgate Cemetery for John (Jack) Leslie Youngman (Rat of Tobruk, 2/32nd Battalion, Service No-QX350, born 1900?, West Maitland, N.S.W. (brother of Albert Robert (DoW 22/8/1916), Cecil Joseph, Joseph Douglas Youngman). He sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen, scrotum and legs, died 1969, photo of Jack 2nd right) resting in an unmarked grave at Sandgate Cemetery, therefore no memorial inscription to tell us of the supreme sacrifice of older brother Albert during The Great War, so December 2020 I placed a memorial and grave cross adorned with poppies on the gravesite, taken a photo of the grave and uploaded the photo onto the Northern Cemetery website as a permanent record of his service. CATHOLIC 3-96. 138.
