Served his time as a Prisoner of War at Afion Kara Hissar and at Belemedik and survived the years as Prisoner of War and returned to UK after the Armistice.
He was drafted to the Cruiser HMAS Melbourne 31 January 1919 which returned to Australian in April 1919
Discharged at own request 01 August 1919

Biography

William served on the Submarine the AE2 from 01-01-1915 as Telegraphist. After the sinking of the submarine on the 30th April 1915 he was taken prisioner of war in Turkey for three and a half years.
