Wiliam McBURNIE was born in Newfield, Ayrshire, Scotland on 6th January,1875

His parents were Alexander McBURNE & Elizabeth CAMPBELL

He had previously served as a Sergeant in the South African War & arrived in Queensland on 27th January, 1912 on the ship Cornwall - the family had two more children after arrival, Ronald & Myrtle

He married Annie TEASDALE on 25th January, 1901 at Blackfriers Church in Glasgow , Scotland
