Biography
Edward (Ted) Absalom was born in Mortlake Victoria on 30 Aug 1875, the son of English immigrants William Absalom and Mary Ann Rose.
Ted played 11 games for the Collingwood football club before enlisting to Kitchener's Fighting Scouts in December 1900. He was discharged as medically unfit in May 1901.
Ted re-enlisted in Jan 1902 to the 2nd Australian Commonwealth Horse (Vic) and was discharged in Aug 1902.
Ted married Emily Esther Hill in 1905 with whom he had three children; Edward, Pearl and Phyllis.
Ted passed away suddenly at Coleraine on 18 Jan 1927.
