Charles Langslow Adams (2nd given name derivatives Lonsglow/Langlow) was born on 1 Aug 1879 at Orange, NSW, a son to William Longslow Adams and Jane Adams. He married twice in NSW, first to Muriel L. Abrahams in 1903 at Murwillumbah, and second to Elizabeth Muir in 1915 at West Wallsend with whom he had 4 children.
He served twice in the South African (Boer) War and again in WW1. First service was as a Private S.N. 374 in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, Boer War from which he was invalided and discharged early. Second service was as a Private S.N. 145 in the 5th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, Boer War. Third service was as a Corporal S.N. 3266 in the No. 4 Tunnelling Company AIF, WW1.
