'FROM NEAR AND FAR.

Allora is represented in the Fifth Contingent by Privates D. J. Smith, W. Wall, Martin Allen, J. C. Logan, A. T. Smythe, and G. Davidson' from Warwick Argus (nla.gov.au)

Private Martin Allen was discharged from the 5th Queensland Imperial Bushman in March 1902 for employment in South Africa. 

The Australian electoral roll of this period shows that Private Allen had retuned to Australia by 1903 and was residing in the Darling Downs district.
