9 May 1901: Transferred Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, Lieutenant, 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, AWM Boer War Nominal Roll, Murray p. 510 notes he joined the 6th QIB from the 3rd QMI while still in South Africa at the new rank of Lieutenant (Supernumerary).
23 Jun 1902: Discharged Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, Lieutenant, 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, AWM Boer War Unit Details , Murray p. 508 notes 6th QIB embarked 17 May 1902 at Durban returning to Australia aboard Devon arriving Brisbane 17 Jun 1902, disbanded 23 Jun 1902.

Robert Anderson served twice in the South African (Boer War). First service was as a Private (rising in rank to Corporal then Sergeant) S.N. 275 in the 3rd Queensland Mounted Infantry. He remained in South Africa when the 3rd QMI embarked to return to Australia for his second service joining the 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen in South Africa as a Lieutenant (Supernumerary). (source AWM Boer War Nominal Roll p. 472 and 510).
