Cecil Henry Anderson-Pelham was born 25 Jan 1874 in Lincolnshire, England, a son to Hon. Evelyn Cornwallis Anderson-Pelham and Harriet Francis Anderson-Pelham (nee Hutton). He married Hon. Georgina Hamilton on 12 Nov 1902 in Dublin, Ireland.
He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1891 in the 4th Battalion Licolnshire Regiment and promoted to lieutenant in 1893. He was appointed as a extra Aide-de-camp to the Governor of the Colony of Queensland, Lord Lamington, seconded as a Lieutenant in 1897 and promoted to Captain the same year. He served with the 1st Queensland contingent during the South African (Boer) war between 1899 and 1901. He continued his military career upon returning to England and served with the British Army Remount Service rising to rank of Major during WW1. On 3 Jun 1919 he was appointed a OBE by King George V. He relinquished his commission on reaching age limit on 25 Jan 1924.
