Ernest Albert APPLEBY was born on 1st January, 1880 in Curlewis, Gunnedah, New South Wales

His parents were John William APPLEBY & Ann Marie FERRIER

He served in the Boer War with the 3rd NSW Mounted Rifles and embarked on the ship Maplemore on 15th March, 1901

He returned to Australia on 3rd June, 1902

Ernest married Alvina STANFORD in 1903 - one known child Ernest born 1913

He died on 6th December, 1964 in Marrickville, Sydney & is buried in Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney
