Frank Percy Beatty was born on 18 Feb 1879 in Queensland, a son to Theophilus Stuart Beatty and Eliza Helen Beatty (nee Evans). He married Violet Ada 'Queenie' Taylor on 14 Nov 1906 in Queensland and they had one child. 

He worked managing bank branches at Sarina and Innisfail prior to purchasing an agency business in Sarina where they would reside.
