When William Arthur Beaumont enlisted in 1901 and his details were published (surname incorrectly recorded as Vermont) with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as P. Kelly, Blackwater, Adavale, Qld. The Boer War Service Paybooks for the 6th QIB notes he was discharged in South Africa on 15 May 1902.
