Son of William BOYD, Kingsholme Street, New Farm, Brisbane, Qld.

Robert Boyd served twice in the South African (Boer) War, first as a Private (rising in rank to Corporal) S.N. 36 in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, and second as a Sergeant S.N. 123 in the 7th Battalion, Australian Commonwealth Horse (source AWM Boer War Nominal Roll, Murray p. 480 & 533).
