Thomas George Bridges was born on 17 May 1876 in Brisbane (likely Nundah), Queensland, a son to Thomas Bridges and Margaret Elizabeth Bridges (nee Lee). His father was an elected Member of The Legislative Assembly of Queensland 1896-1907 and 1909-1918 for the seat of Nundah.

Thomas George Bridges served in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen in the South African (Boer) War, returning to live in Brisbane. He never married and suffered ongoing affects from the war leading him to take his life in Jul 1907.
