Death of Boer War Veteran
Major Henry Hamilton-Browne who had a distinguished record in the Boer War had died at Clarmore Private hospital. He won the D.S.O and was mentioned in Lor Roberts' and Lord Kitchener's despatches. He was severely wounded in the head just before the end of the Boer War. As a young man, Major Hamilton Browne was a member of the original Corps of Lancers formed in Sydney, now long since disbanded.
