Ernest Arthur CADDOW was born in Bealiba, Victoria in 1871
His parents were Alexander John CADDOW & Mary MEIKLEJOHN
He served during the Boer War with the 3rd NSW Mounted Rifles as a Trooper (E squadron) they embarked on 21st March, 1901 on the ship British Princess
He was awarded the Queens South Africa Medal with two clasps
Ernest returned to Australia on the ship Aurania on the 3rd June, 1902 & married Jane LORD in 1911
He died in Sydney in 1929 & is buried in the Church of England section of Randwick General Cemetery
