When Henry James Carr enlisted in 1901 in the 6th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K as Mrs. J. Carr, Pedley St, Morningside. His younger brother Private Sidney Joseph Carr S.N. 324 also served in the 6th QIB.

Henry James Carr was born on 2 Feb 1879 in Queensland, a son to Joseph Carr and  Elizabeth Dyer Carr (nee Ralph). He married Catherine Evans on 17 Oct 1906 in Queensland and they had 2 children while residing in the Wynnum district of Brisbane.
