When Thomas Edward Page Carr enlisted in 1901 in the 5th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 16 Mar 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as his mother Mrs. Carr, Eton Vale Station, Cambooya. In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 5th QIB, Bk 3 p. 30, it is noted he directed part of his pay to his mother Mrs. E. Carr, Eton Vale Station, Cambooya.
Thomas Edward Page Carr was born on 6 Feb 1880 at Warwick, Qld, a son to Robert Carr and Emily Carr (nee Page). He married Mabel Vaughan on 3 Oct 1903 and they had 1 child.
When Thomas passed at the age of 52 in Sydney an obituary to him was published in The Sydney Morning Herald, 1 Oct 1932. It noted he was a native of Warwick, Queensland, and had been in the hotel business in parts of Queensland and New South Wales. He had been the licensee of the Bedford Hotel, Redfern, for 8 years and his wife had predeceased him by 4 years.
