Biography contributed by Claude McKelvey

Alfred Noble Cave was born in Queensland (most likely Brisbane) on 2 Nov 1872, a son to William Cave and Harriet Susanna Cave (nee Lucas). At the time of his enlistment for the South African (Boer) War he noted he was single and his next of kin was his father William Cave, Rosalie, Queensland.

After returning from the war he married Annie Vincent Witty (date/location unknown). They later returned to South Africa where he had a water divining and borehole drilling business.
